The Forest of Ancient Wisdom

Project X exists to Guard the Amazon from the threat of gold mining by transforming 35 hectares in Ecuador into a thriving, indigenous-owned nature reserve. With a sustainable management model, we aim to create a model of how to preserve the precious biodiversity that sustains all of us—today and for generations to come.
Biodiversity at risk

Though Ecuador makes up just 2.2% of the Amazon, its Napo Region holds some of the richest biodiversity on the planet. A single hectare of forest here can contain over 300 tree species. It’s also a haven for wildlife — home to more than 500 bird species and 183 types of amphibians, representing 44% of Ecuador’s recorded amphibians in the Amazon. These species, especially amphibians, depend on unbroken forest to survive — making the Napo a critical stronghold against deforestation and biodiversity loss.
