Our passion for South America trips when we started Viventura in 2001 we saw a trip offer that was overprices, large group trips, boring itineraries and touch ordinary. We challenged the status quo by offering amazing trips, away from the beaten path and an amazing price. The success came quickly. Within 3 years after founding the company we became the the first choice in Germany for people to organize trips to South America. This passion has been kept being on from day one. All of our Viventura staff has a deep passion for South America. We have lived and traveled here extensively. You don't believe us? Just give us a call and the person answering the phone already is an expert!

Andre is the founder of Viventura. He had and still has three passion that drove him to start a tour operator. South America, Travel and Internet. So he combined these passions to start Viventura in 2001 while he was still studying Business Administration with a focus on tourism in a German university. Right after founding the first office in Germany he moved to Arequipa, Peru to research an amazing trip to Peru. The first trip took our clients through Peru, Bolivia and Chile. It was the worlds first itinerary for this route. Clients loved it, the word of mouth passed, so that this itinerary has been copied by almost all competitors in Germany and internationally. He later researched several other trips and lived in total 12 years in South America.

Our passion for South results in going the extra mile for our customers. We plan each of our trips with lots of love for details. To give you some examples. When we started our first trips, Machu Picchu was crowded with day tourists, they arrived at 10 am and left at 4pm. So what did do? We arrived the day early, took the first bus and had Machu Picchu from 6am to 10am almost for ourselves. These details continue until today. We find little gems on our research trips that we include. We handpick our hotels. The same travel specialist that consult you on the phone are asked to do proper research in the destination once a year to check for the newest, well run family hotels, find the best guides and create magic travel experiences for you.

And the best thing. Thanks to your trips good things are happening in the destination. Your trip is an investment in the country. Family fathers can stay with their family in remote areas thanks to income from community based tourism and don't any longer have to work in the big city half the year. Animals and nature gets protected thanks to the economic benefit of preserving them for travelers. Rights of indigenous people get respected, as they draw the attention of our clients.

Your entire trip is 100% compensated (flight, hotel, excursions, etc.) by an international Gold Standard project. Through a provider for CO2 offsetting, tested and certified by TÜV-Nord, we have obtained for our clients the CO2 certificates via the carbon offset project in Chile. At the Santa Marta landfill site south of Santiago de Chile, gases from the waste are used to produce environmentally friendly energy. This saves approximately 348,000 tons of CO2 per year.

The VSocial foundation's first commitment already took place during the first Viventura trips in 2001. In 2005, vSocial was officially recognized. The vision of this foundation is to bring positive change in the communities we support by encouraging people to benefit from sustainable tourism. The goal is to strengthen communities, preserve their cultural richness and accompany them on the path to self-management. Ventura TRAVEL supports the VSocial foundation every year with more than €120,000. For this, a donation of 25 € is included in the price of each tour of our brands. Our travelers also have the opportunity to visit several projects during their trips to specific destinations.

Through sustainable travel planning, we try to avoid domestic flights as much as possible during our travels. In addition, the majority of our trips have a minimum duration of 14 days and the group size is limited to a maximum of 15 participants. Clients stay mainly in family-run, middle-class hotels. Travelers and the local population are informed about environmental protection measures. Local tour guides receive annual training on topics such as country knowledge, first aid training, environmental protection and social commitment. In addition, our local partners, with whom we encourage long-term contracts, are called upon to constantly develop their services in a sustainable, socially and environmentally friendly manner.

Respect for human rights in tourism is a major concern. As an active member of the Round Table on Human Rights in Tourism for many years, we verify that for all our trips, our partners respect the legal provisions in terms of wages and employment, especially for young people. We also support the "Don't look away" campaign, which aims to protect children in their vacation destinations from sexual abuse and exploitation.

Viventura, the South American specialist of Ventura TRAVEL, is the proud winner of the sustainability award Fairwärts with its trip "viActive Ecuador Galapagos". The trip was awarded as an innovative and sustainable travel offer, focusing on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the Agenda 2030. The award is organized by the non-profit organization kate Environment & Development in cooperation with Tourcert. The project is supported by Engagement Global on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

As a sustainable tour operator, we are certified by Tourcert and undergo a detailed review of all business areas every 2 years. TourCert gGmbH is a non-profit organization for certifications in tourism and has set itself the task of promoting ecological, social and economic corporate responsibility in tourism.

The Forum Anders Reisen e.V. is an association of travel companies that are committed to sustainable tourism. The travel experiences offered by their members are oriented towards people and environment, use local resources carefully and purposefully and treat foreign cultures with respect. The forum anders reisen was founded in 1998 and has around 130 members.
